HISTORY:
The Missouri Hunting Spaniel Club was founded in 2005. The majority of our Club members are "hunters" first and foremost but also like to participate in the spaniel games. What we have discovered is that training our dogs for the Hunt Tests has resulted in us having a better trained hunting dog which results in more enjoyable hunts. Having a dog that will Find, Flush and Fetch birds is just the beginning. The level of trained skills that you want your dog to possess is your own preference. We encourage folks to come out and train sometime and see how much fun we have "playing" with the dogs.
We began hosting AKC Flushing Spaniel Hunt Tests in Spring 2007. In 2009, we were able to host our first English Springer Spaniel Field Trial with the help of the English Springer Spaniel Club of Eastern Nebraska mentoring us. We host an English Springer Spaniel Field Trial in the Spring and Fall and offer an Open, Amateur Stake and Puppy Stakes. We also host AKC Flushing Spaniel Hunt Tests in the Spring and Fall.
